P30 P31 P32 P33
With P28, we have confirmed our movement bridge marking design.
We then have to fine-tune our equipment so that the lines beautifully complement the rest of the movement design. A little too thick then it is distracting; a little too thin then the pattern looks like scratches from certain angles.
For P30, we tested the upper end of the line thickness.
For P31, we dialed down the line thickness, and we managed to achieve a pattern that looks good under a 3X loupe.
For P32, we managed to achieve a pattern marking that looks great even under 20x loupe (yes, that’s practically a microscope).
With that tuning, we tested another version with lines that are 0.03mm thinner, and that resulted in P33. But this prototype confirmed that we prefer the version with a slightly thicker line.
As a result, P32 becomes the 1st Cal 852 with our confirmed production movement pattern marking.
