More Hong Kong than Made in HK

We are proud to introduce a mechanical movement that is more Hong Kong than ‘Made in Hong Kong’: it ticks every box required for an official certificate of origin, and then some more.

Hong Kong elements of this movement include:

  • EONIQ SIGNATURE in-house design of the skeleton baseplate

  • Movement components customized to EONIQ SIGNATURE’s specifications

  • Hong-Kong-based precision CNC production of the baseplate

  • Hong-Kong-made hairspring

  • Hong Kong component QC

  • EONIQ SIGNATURE in-house assembly of the movement

  • EONIQ SIGNATURE in-house tuning and adjustment of the balance-hairspring assembly

  • EONIQ SIGNATURE in-house final movement QC

It will still work in 100 years.

No one knows how Hong Kong will be in 100 years.

But we know that if your watch has a Caliber 852 beating in it, it will still be serviceable anywhere in the world. Combining precision CNC processes in Hong Kong with Swiss NIHS standards in component designs, we have created this movement to be a timeless reminder of our Hong Kong today.

Why made-in HK? Why now?

Hong Kong has been an integral part of the watchmaking world. From R&D, design, and manufacturing to aftersale services, watchmakers in Hong Kong have played key roles in bringing horology enjoyment to the world. A watch’s true origin lies in the origin of its movement, and our founders believe Hong Kong deserves a mechanical movement of its own. As a result, we are pouring all of EONIQ’s resources into the creation of this, the 1st Hong Kong mechanical movement.

We are racing against time. It is unfortunate that all things made-in-HK may come to an end. So when is the best time to create a Hong Kong mechanical movement? Now.
